TITLE: CLINICAL NURSE IV GRADE: N4

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY
To provide expert direct primary or specialty health care to patients; to provide health education information to patients; and to provide educational experiences for health care professionals.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess, diagnose and treat health problems for a specialty patient population or employees.
Perform health assessments including patient history, physical examinations and appropriate interventions or referrals.
Document patient care and progress and maintain complete and detailed patient records.
Provide health education information. Develop and implement patient education programs.
Present workshops, lectures and in-service programs. Serve as a preceptor for graduate nursing and nurse practitioner students.
Participate in the development of policies, procedures and protocols including standards of care.
Participate in research projects.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General supervision is received from a Head Nurse or other designated official.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Functional supervision may typically be exercised over Clinical Nurses, LPN's, Nurse Aides, and other support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS

BSN or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan is necessary.
Three to four years experience as an R.N. in the clinical nursing specialty is necessary.
Certification from a National Credentialing Organization is desirable.
This position requires Primary Source Verification.
