WellSpringboard: Giving Patients a Voice in Health Research

WellSpringboard is a crowd-sourcing and crowd-funding website for health research ideas contributed by members of the general public. This year, teams from MICHR and CHEAR (Medical School – Pediatrics) partnered to launch WellSpringboard.org, enabling members of the public to send in their health research ideas. Then we worked with University of Michigan researchers to find matches for those ideas and opened them up for crowd-funding. In this presentation, we’ll discuss the innovation and challenges of creating a platform like WellSpringboard.
