Using Data Analytics to Track Graduate School Admissions

While work with business intelligence is still in its early stages at the Ford School, data analytics are transforming the way that administrators use information to make data-informed decisions. A pivotal project was the development of a new system for tracking graduate admissions which allows staff members to track the status of applications in real-time during admissions season. Using Tableau and Access, institutional data was merged with local data to create a robust database. At this session we will outline our simple, low cost data design, demonstrate several admissions dashboards and discuss the institutional implications of this process redesign.
