A Letter from Sonya Jacobs

The university’s Organizational Learning department seeks to empower people through lifelong learning, and we are committed to providing you the tools you need to learn, grow, and succeed in your career. Through professional and leadership development opportunities for faculty and staff, as well as training and other resources as part of the university’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiative, we strive to be your trusted partners in developing people, building organizational capacity, and inspiring a culture of lifelong learning.

New for this year, Organizational Learning has identified online offerings from Lynda.com, available at no cost to U-M faculty and staff, that can augment our in-person learning opportunities. Simply use your university credentials to login and gain access to hundreds of free tutorials taught by industry experts.

In this catalog, you’ll find more than 100 courses to help U-M staff improve skills and abilities in their current jobs, and to support their future career growth. These courses, along with conferences, special events, and customized consulting services, are offered by Learning & Professional Development, a division of Organizational Learning.

We look forward to working with you and your teams to develop and refine the skills needed to support our university’s workforce now and into the future. More information about the courses, special programs, and consulting offered by Learning and Professional Development can be found at lpd.umich.edu. We hope you take advantage of all Organizational Learning has to offer, and see you at an upcoming session soon!

Warmest regards,

Sonya Jacobs
