Microlearning: Prioritizing Self-Care

We often hear “take care of yourself,”  yet when life gets stressful or our calendars get full, we tend to push aside the basics of good self-care. This microlearning session will explore some challenges and barriers that many face when it comes to prioritizing self-care, examine why it’s a vital thing to make time for, and provide various resources for stress management, including tips for fitting self-care into busy schedules. Videos from LinkedIn Learning and many resources that can be referenced after the session at no cost from various departments across U-M will be included.

You will learn to:

  • Identify reasons why self-care should be a priority
  • Incorporate stress management techniques into your day
  • Find resources for various areas of self-care

You will benefit by:

  • Practicing a stress management technique of deep breathing during the session
  • Gaining new tips to implement the basics of good self-care, such as rest, good nutrition, or exercise, into your routine
  • Reflecting on ways you can take action to prioritize your own self-care

Audience:

Any U-M faculty or staff member who would like to learn why self-care is vital and tips on how to put it into practice
