Study the techniques of a leader within the university who is known as a very effective communicator. Watch videos and read articles or newsletters in which they are featured.
Meet with a person outside of the university whom you see as a very good communicator to learn tips and suggestions.

Create a speakers group to promote and practice the creation of effective, impactful narratives pertaining to DEI, your unit, and the organization's mission or vision.
Attend a storytelling event or listen to a storytelling podcast or radio show to expose yourself to compelling narratives.
At staff meetings, highlight one or two ways in which the people, resources, programs, and/or projects execute your unit's mission and values. Include any collaboration across university units or organizations outside of the university.
