Join the public relations or communications committee of an organization outside of work to hone communication skills.

Insert success stories or positive client feedback in communications to your team.

Create a brief elevator speech about your role within the organization to someone you meet at a U-M class or event.

Attend or listen to a Moth storytelling event and then write an inspirational email to a group that you volunteer or work with outside of U-M.

Attend an event with a speaker. Notice the degree to which the message is inspirational. If so, create a list of the inspirational attributes for the next message that you compose.

Ask a colleague to proofread a communication pertaining to a change in your office.
