Participate on a unit-wide committee that promotes cross-functional opportunities with its many departments or groups.

Assemble a team of cross-functional colleagues across your unit to determine root causes of a talent-related problem (e.g., high turnover), and facilitate steps to address it.

Ask people from outside of U-M about projects and initiatives of interest. They may offer perspectives and ideas that you can introduce to the university.
