Human resources data is critical for decision making. It is used to for internal and external surveys, and forms or reports that procure and maintain federal or state contracts.

Using human resource data to understand changing demographic trends allows us proactively plan for challenges and help sustain our leadership position as one of the nation’s greatest public research universities.

This site is your resource for accessing human resources data through reports. It is also where you can request targeted communications and mailing lists of university faculty and staff.

Records Management Information

The Human Resources Records Management maintains and manages records and information for the University of Michigan community, including benefits information. Records Management also has the responsibility of processing and maintaining Faculty and Staff records, including: 

  • Analyze and process Appointment Activity, university-wide, including DBE and Additional Pay 

  • Manage Employment Activity for all Faculty (regular & supplemental), Primary (regular & supplemental), Educational Assistants (GSA, House Officers, Post-Doctoral), Lecturer’s, and Academic Administrative appointments 

  • Interpret, analyze and process appointments and transactions 

  • Manage exception and complex appointment transactions 

  • Provide expert user support 

  • Provide Unit training 

  • Batch processing experts 

  • Spreadsheet processing experts 

  • Maintain all University Benefit Enrollments 

  • Manage and Administer Unemployment Compensation for entire University, including Flint & Dearborn Campuses 

  • Manage Employment Activity for Temporary Appointments 

  • Data Stewards for ALL HR data 

  • Prepare monthly Regents Information Report 

  • Transaction Reporting 

  • Auditing 

  • Self-Service 

  • Documentation Development 

  • Upgrades activities 

  • Maintenance of system configuration for Manage Labor Relations 

  • Maintain premium collection and reconciliation for all unpaid university benefit recipients 

  • Provide pay processing support
