- Determine if overtime is needed.
- Notify administrative head or his/her representative that overtime is necessary. If an emergency exists where an adverse effect will result as a consequence of this delay, proceed with overtime steps.
- If eligibility of staff member for overtime is undetermined, consult the applicable Academic & Staff HR Services or Regional HR office.
- Receive authorization for overtime and notify affected staff members as much in advance as practical.
- For Exempt staff members, complete Special Payment Form according to established procedures and deadlines. For Nonexempt staff members, complete timesheet or timecard according to established procedures and deadlines.
