Yummy Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces evaporated skim milk
  • 1 cup cocoa powder, such as Ghirardelli or Droste, sifted
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch, dissolved in 2 teaspoons of water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. Measure the first 5 ingredients into a 1 quart saucepan; whisk to combine.
  2. Bring to a boil over low to moderate heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning the cocoa.
  3. Off the heat, slowly add the dissolved cornstarch, stirring constantly. Return to heat and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring.
