Winter Spice Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups filtered water
  • 6 Tablespoons honey
  • 6 strips of lemon peel
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and sliced

Preparation

  1. Combine 1 cup of the water with the honey, lemon peel, cinnamon stick and ginger in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat and stir until honey has dissolved, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside to steep for at least an hour for the flavors to develop.
  2. Strain mixture through a mesh strainer into a pitcher. Stir in the lemon juice and remaining 2 1/2 cups of water. Chill and enjoy.
