Triple Cranberry Sauce with Citrus and Spice

Ingredients

  • 24 ounces cranberries
  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup crystallized ginger, chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper or 1/4 teaspoon pepper flakes

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and allow to simmer until berries pop and mixture thickens slightly.
  2. Transfer mixture to bowl and refrigerate until well chilled. Cover until ready to serve.
