Triple Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cranberries
  • 1/4 cup cranberry juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 Tablespoons crystallized or candied ginger, chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • dash of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and allow to simmer until berries pop and mixture thickens slightly.
  2. Transfer mixture to bowl and refrigerate until well chilled. Cover until ready to serve.
