Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar Glaze*

Ingredients

  • 2 pints strawberries, carefully washed
  • 4 tablespoons confectioner's sugar
  • 4 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Meets Cardiac Rehab guidelines.*

Preparation

  1. Submerge strawberries into very hot water in a salad spinner for about 8 seconds. Drain, spin dry and refrigerate until ready to use. Then hull and quarter strawberries, toss with confectioner's sugar. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Measure balsamic vinegar into a small nonreactive saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil vinegar until reduced to 2 tablespoons. Allow to cool.
  3. Toss strawberries with cooled balsamic vinegar glaze and serve.
