Spicy Hoisin Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ginger root, peeled and grated
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce, such as Kikkoman or Trader Joe's
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar, not seasoned
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste, more or less to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • salt and pepper, as desired

Preparation

  1. In a small pan combine 1 teaspoon of the olive oil, the ginger, and garlic. Cook over medium heat until lightly golden. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat
