Orange Carrot Ginger Turmeric Shots

Ingredients

  • 1 cup carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup fresh orange orange juice
  • 6 ounces unsweetened coconut water
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh turmeric root, peeled and sliced - or 1/2 teaspoon dried turmeric
  • dash of ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. In a blender combine the carrots, orange juice, coconut water, lemon juice, ginger and turmeric. Blend until smooth.
  2. Divide among 5 4-ounce bottles. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Shake well and add a dash of black pepper before drinking. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  3. This recipe works well with 1 cup of fresh pineapple instead of carrots for another bright, delicious, anti-inflammatory shot.
