Healthy Granola


  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts
  • 1/4 cup coconut, large flakes preferred but shredded is ok
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup dried cherries
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


  1. Preheat the oven to 400F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Spread oats evenly onto the prepared sheet pan and roast in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl measure the sunflower seeds, walnuts, macadamias, coconut and salt. Stir to combine. Add them to the oats on the sheet pan after the oats have roasted for 5 minutes. Return the pan to the oven and roast the mixture for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the nuts and coconut are lightly golden.
  4. Measure the maple syrup, cherries and cinnamon into the medium bowl, then add the roasted mixture and toss well to coat the ingredients with the maple syrup and cinnamon. Allow to cool, then store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
