Green Beans with Toasted Nuts

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 pounds green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts, lightly toasted

Preparation

  1. Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil in a medium skillet. Add beans and cook, covered, for 3 minutes. Drain, return the skillet to the heat and add the olive oil and garlic. Cook an additional 3 minutes, tossing to evenly distribute the heat throughout the beans and garlic. Add salt and pepper. Toss with the pine nuts and serve.
