Tuition Discount at U-M Regional Campuses

U-M faculty and staff with dependents enrolled in classes on the Flint or Dearborn campuses may be eligible for scholarships to help offset part of the cost of tuition. Regular (non-temporary) employees at the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses and Michigan Medicine may utilize this benefit. 

Dependent children, spouses, other qualified adults (“OQAs”) and dependent children of OQAs are eligible to apply. The scholarships are restricted to Michigan residents who are U.S. citizens/permanent residents.  

Children, spouses or OQAs of retired faculty and staff are not eligible.

Scholarship Amounts

Dependents who attend the regional campus at which the employee works may qualify for a 50% scholarship. 

For example, UM-Flint eligible dependents and spouses/OQAs may receive a 50% tuition and fees scholarship for courses taken through UM-Flint. 

Dependents affiliated with another campuses or Michigan Medicine may receive a 20% scholarship.

How to Apply in Dearborn

Dependents are required to apply for this scholarship through UM-Dearborn’s Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships using the UM System Dependent Tuition Scholarship Application. More information and the application can be found on the UM-Dearborn website.

The deadline for applying in Dearborn is August 31, 2020

How to Apply in Flint

Dependents must apply for this scholarship through the UM-Flint Human Resources Office. More information, including FAQs and the application form can be found on the UM-Flint Human Resources website
