Open Enrollment, your opportunity to change to your benefits for 2018, is coming to a close.
Act Now to Change Your Benefits
If you want to change your benefits, log in to Wolverine Access. Click the Faculty & Staff tab, and then select Employee Self-Service. Click Benefits and follow the instructions on the Benefits Enrollment page to make changes. When you have completed your changes, click the Submit button. Your enrollment is complete when the system displays a Confirmation Statement.
You may make changes through Wolverine Access Self-Service as often as you wish until the deadline at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Friday, November 3, 2017. Your changes and new rates will go into effect on January 1, 2018.
While it is important to review your U-M benefits, options and rates, if you are happy with your current benefits you do not need to do anything to keep them — with two exceptions:
- If you are enrolled in the HAP health plan, you will be automatically enrolled in the BCBSM Community Blue PPO plan effective January 1, 2018 unless you choose a different U-M health plan during Open Enrollment.
- IRS rules do not allow Flexible Spending Account (FSA) enrollments to cross calendar years. Eligible faculty and staff will need to re-enroll to participate in an FSA for 2018.
For details, visit Open Enrollment on the University HR website.
Note: Retirement Savings Plan Elections will be Closed on Thursday and Friday
U-M Retirement Savings Plan elections are not part of Open Enrollment and you can make changes at any time throughout the year. However, to avoid conflict with Open Enrollment benefit changes, initiating Basic Plan, 403(b) SRA and 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan elections through Wolverine Access Self-Service will not be available on Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3. These elections will become available on Saturday, November 4, 2017.
