Parent Registry
Would you like to talk with a family who has used a childcare provider?
The Work/Life Resource Center maintains a “Parent Registry.” This is a list of parents who have formerly used childcare providers in the Washtenaw County area and have agreed to serve as references to other University of Michigan families. This resource can help you determine the quality, tone, and atmosphere provided at over 100 area childcare centers, as well as family and group home providers.
If you are interested in discussing a particular provider with someone who has used it in the past, please contact our office at (734) 936-8677 for a contact list. While we do not have listings for every provider in the area, we do add to our list often and are happy to accept any additional entries at any time.
If you are willing to serve as a reference to other families about the childcare setting you use, please fill out the registry form * and mail it to us at the address listed at the bottom of this page and we will add you to the list.
*Disclaimer:
The Parent Registry is a service for UM families who are seeking feedback from individuals who have used licensed child care providers in our area. The WLRC does not monitor the content of this feedback. Our registry is a voluntary service. We suggest that you use the registry as one tool when evaluating child care settings. Information is available on the internet at http://www.michigan.gov/dhs/0,1607,7-124-5455_27716---,00.html about licensing as well as completed complaint investigations. Ask the child care provider for references of families who have used the program. Use the checklist WLRC provides when visiting the provider. Visit more than once, and talk with the teachers as well as any parents who are willing to share their experience.”
