    Nominations are now closed for faculty non-senate representatives on the U-M Police Department Oversight Committee. The nomination period ended February 28, 2014.

    The Faculty Senate is following a separate timeline to elect their representative. Faculty Senate members may submit nominations of eligible Senate members to: facultysenateoffice@umich.edu.

Welcome to the U-M Police Department Oversight Committee Website

Purpose

The U-M Police Department Oversight Committee is an independent committee  established to address grievances and complaints by persons against police officers or the department. The Committee may make recommendations concerning such grievances to the Executive director, division of Public Safety and Security, including recommendations for disciplinary action. The six-member committee is comprised of two student members, two faculty members (one Senate faculty and one non-Senate faculty), and two staff members (one union and one non-union), who are nominated and elected by their peers for two-year terms.
