Rate increase is equivalent to six cents per hour for full-time temporary staff
To customers of U-M Temporary Staffing Services,
U-M Temporary Staffing Services (TSS) is dedicated to serving all departments of the university by providing pre-screened and tested temporary employees. We are a self-funded unit and charge a flat, monthly fee for temporary staff. Our goal is to provide superior services to university departments at a greatly reduced cost.
Our current fee of $64 per month, which has been the standard since March of 2005, no longer covers our operating expenses. To meet our costs, we are raising the rate to $79 per month effective February 1. Additionally, our fee for a one- or two-day assignment will increase from $32 to $50. As always, TSS will never charge a hire-on fee for our employees and we will process all hiring, change and termination paperwork so that your staff can be free to concentrate on their own duties.
The monthly rate increase works out to only six cents per hour for a full-time employee and still represents significant savings to your department. Take a look at this example for a temporary administrative assistant:
