RESPONSIBILITY ACTION
Supervisor

1. Determine if overtime is needed.

2. Notify administrative head or his/her representative that overtime is necessary. If an emergency exists where an adverse effect will result as a consequence of this delay, proceed with overtime steps.

3. If eligibility of staff member for overtime is undetermined, consult the applicable Academic & Staff HR Services or Regional HR office.

4. Receive authorization for overtime and notify affected staff members as much in advance as practical.

5. For Exempt staff members, complete Special Payment Form according to established procedures and deadlines. For Nonexempt staff members, complete timesheet or timecard according to established procedures and deadlines.
