The Occupational Health Service offers the seasonal Influenza vaccine to UMHS employees, medical students and volunteers. We strongly encourage everyone to protect themselves against influenza.

Green Road site: Seasonal flu shots will also be offered at 2600 Green Road on December 11. The clinic will be held from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. If you are not an employee at the Green Road site but would like to receive your flu shot here, please call 936-4196 to reserve a dose for yourself.

Please note: People who would like to receive an influenza vaccine at ANY location must present a current University of Michigan Health System ID badge. Flu shots will NOT be administered without a current ID badge. Also, please bring your blue registration card.

The flu shot is given in the muscle of the upper arm, so please remember to wear appropriate clothing.

More flu clinics and information about the flu will be added as the season progresses, so please stay tuned to this page for updates.

Off-site Clinics:

OHS works with your site manager(s) in order that you may receive your flu shot at your work location. Please speak with your site manager about receiving a flu shot.

 

H1N1 Flu Vaccination

Please remember:

The spread of influenza can be minimized by adhering to good respiratory hygiene which includes:

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze
  • Clean your hands often, especially after coughing or sneezing. Wash with soap and water if available or clean with alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Visit the Infection Control website for tips on avoiding spreading illness
