What resources does the University provide to help me understand and address mental and emotional health or substance misuse concerns?

The University provides professional counseling services to assist with mental and emotional health concerns, substance misuse problems, and personal and work-related issues.

Short- term counseling services (up to 5 sessions), confidential and free of charge for employees, retirees and their benefit-eligible dependents, are provided by:

  • UMHS EAP, located in the Medical Professional Building, for employees of the Health System
  • FASAP, located on the main Ann Arbor campus, for employees of central campus as well as Flint and Dearborn campuses.
  • A contracted therapist who also provides FASAP services in Flint.
  • The Office of Counseling & Support Services on the Dearborn campus for Dearborn employees
