Let the Games continue with...
The summer games may be over but MHealthy and University Health Services want to keep the excitement for being active going strong! To celebrate the kickoff of Active U Autumn 2012, get moving and eat smarter at these fun (and free!) events in September – all faculty, staff and students are welcome! So, are you game to attend:

CHEF DEMONSTRATION: EAT SMARTER THIS FALL
No registration required
Time: 12 – 1 p.m.
Location: Michigan Union, Rogel Ballroom (2nd Floor)
Come see and taste how easy and delicious it is to make healthy foods for you and your family! Get food samples, recipes and tips on healthy eating. A U-M culinary expert will prepare a variety of dishes including:
- Spiced Pumpkin, Lentil & Goat Cheese Salad
- Chicken Breast Sandwich with Roasted Peppers
- Apple Brown Betty
This event is free and open to all U-M faculty, staff and students. No registration is required but space is limited. Please bring your U-M employee ID for faster check-in.
September 19
TORCH RELAY
Start time: 11:30 a.m. (please arrive 10 minutes before)
Two starting locations:
- Medical Campus: Start at the University Hospital Courtyard
- Central Campus: Regents’ Plaza (next to the Michigan Union)
Throw on your sneakers and an Active U T-shirt from years past and join U-M leaders as they lead faculty, staff and students in our very own Torch Relay! Everyone is welcome to walk, run or wheel. The route will cover parts of central campus, and end up at Palmer Field, just in time for the MGames Field Day. Click here to view Ann Arbor route map.
MGAMES FIELD DAY
No registration required
Time: 12 – 2 p.m.
Location: Palmer Field
Get outside for a few minutes and join us for some outdoor fun at Palmer Field! A combination of the Olympic Games and those fun-filled Field Days you remember as a child, the MGames include:
- Games & activities
- Inflatables
- Information booths – tips & advice on moving more, eating smarter, managing stress & more
- Active U Autumn registration
- Giveaways & more!
GET THESE EXTRAS!
- FREE T-shirt to employees who participate in the Torch Relay and MGames (limited quantity available)
- Water stations – keep it green; bring your own container to fill up!
