In support of October as National Ergonomics Month, MHealthy offers grants to departments/units looking to solve ergonomic issues.

Apply for a grant if you and/or your coworkers regularly:

  • Experience physical discomfort due to manually lifting, pushing, pulling, or transporting equipment, items or patients
  • Bend over, reach up or perform awkward, repetitive motion for several hours a work day
  • Experience physical stress or discomfort due to work conditions

More than 20,000 people participated in MHealthy Rewards 2012, with more than 45 university areas achieving 50 percent or more completion of both the health questionnaire and a wellness screening.

These areas will be recognized with a certificate and letter of congratulations, with special recognition given to the top areas.

The university has made a commitment to improve the health of our community. Studies show that worksite wellness programs like MHealthy can positively affect employees’ attitudes toward their health and their work and that even small changes in a community’s health risks can produce significant changes in health care costs.

As we've previously reported, we are seeing positive movement toward health risk reduction. Based on health questionnaire results from 2009-2011, the number of university participants who are low risk for health risks like stress, tobacco use, poor nutrition, and obesity is increasing and the number who are high risk is decreasing.

Take a look at the complete list of areas that reached 50 percent or more completion in MHealthy Rewards.
