The GOOD CHOICE program increases healthier food choices at the University of Michigan
The MHealthy GOOD CHOICE team has partnered with existing food vendors at the University to increase the number of healthier options available on U-M campuses as well as make it easier to identify which items are healthier choices.
GOOD CHOICE uses MFit nutrition guidelines to identify healthier choices in vending machines, at dining locations and through U-M Catering. MFit nutrition guidelines use specific recommendations for total fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, sugar, sodium and fiber depending on the food category. These guidelines were developed by Registered Dietitians from the University of Michigan. For more information about MFit, visit www.med.umich.edu/mfit.
And, because it’s not only important for foods to be good for you but also to taste great, GOOD CHOICE team members and partners strive to ensure that GOOD CHOICE vending machine and menu items are satisfying and delicious!
