Reports: HR Metrics

What is HR-Metrics?

HR Metrics is a flexible and easy to use tool that allows users to analyze Human Resource data for their unit and other Campus units over a four year trend. 

It allows you to pose questions such as:

• Is my turnover rate higher or lower than other units? 
• How does my unit’s average salary for my job codes compare to others? 
• Am I properly staffed?  What is my Faculty/Staff ratio compared to others? 
• How diverse is my workforce? 
• How many of my staff/managers are going to retire? 
• Do I have career-paths within my units: external vs. internal hire rates?

Features of the tool include the ability to export data to Excel as well as create and save your own reports.

Who uses it?

The HR Metrics tool is mainly used by unit HR personnel and data warehouse users who want a simple tool for analyzing HR information.  It is also used by people who have to complete various organizational surveys, grant/research applications, and budget planning personnel.

Where can I access it?

If you are currently using the test version of the HR Metrics tool (created by CLC), you will have access to the updated HR Metrics (ProClarity) tool on 3/24/08.

If you currently DO NOT have access to HR Metrics, you may request access to the updated HR Metrics (ProClarity) tool in summer, 2008. At that time, new users must apply using the M1 process and select your preferred access level. If you desire to see detail records (names, salaries, etc.) you must complete an eLearning training module and an Access and Compliance form.

How can I learn more?

Training material is now available in My LINC (http://maislinc.umich.edu, Catalog > MAIS LINC > Reports > HR Metrics).

Intitial training materials include software demonstrations, getting started reference card and field descriptions.
