This memorandum is being issued to assist you in planning work and vacation schedules for the 2007 calendar year. The University will observe seven (7) official holidays within those 12 months:

In addition, for those units of the
University who will observe four (4) Season Days, they
are: December 26, 27, 28 and 31. (Flexibility in scheduling the four [4] Season Days between November 12, 2007 and January 21, 2008 is provided for units operating 24 hours a day and seven days a week, or where work must be scheduled during this period.)
Because other days may be of more significance than a University-designated holiday, a staff member may request approval to substitute up to three (3) holidays of his/her choice for any three (3) University holidays. Written request of substitution(s) for the upcoming fiscal year must be given to the immediate supervisor on or before July 1st of that year.
Health System employees covered by a paid time off (PTO) plan may request time off during the winter holidays consistent with their department policies. Departments may also assign paid time off (or no pay time if requested by the employee and permitted by the department’s policy) during this period to accommodate reduced workload or unit closure.
Employees in bargaining units observe holidays and Season Days as indicated in their respective agreements. If you have questions relating to this policy or contractual provisions, please call one of the following offices:

and holidays.
