What to Expect at New Employee Orientation
Key Forms Presented at New Employee Orientation
Forms you receive when you check-in:
- Uniqname request (if you don’t already have one)
- Supplemental Appointment Information Form
- I-9 (if required)
Forms you receive with the Benefits information:
- LC Beneficiary for Group Life Insurance
- Retirement enrollment forms – can turn in to the Benefits Administration Retirement staff if you know what you want to do, or wait and turn them in later
- Flexible Spending Account and Benefits Rate information
Forms you receive with the Parking information:
- Parking Request
4 Requirements @ New Employee Orientation
Don’t leave New Employee Orientation without:
- turning in your forms
- completing the I-9 processing & onboarding & e-Verify (if needed)
- Meeting with union president (if applicable)
- obtaining a parking pass
- obtaining a uniqname
- and obtaining an ID badge, OR updating ID badge if previously a student or temporary employee
4 Requirements After New Employee Orientation
Remember to log on to Wolverine Access (accessible through the umich.edu gateway), use you uniqname and password to enter and click the link for “Employee Business” to:
- Enroll in benefits within 30 days from your date of hire
- Establish your tax exemptions as soon as possible
- Set up your direct deposit information as soon as possible
- Add emergency contact information as soon as possible
- register for U-M Emergency Alert System ASAP
