Temporary Wage Schedules

The Temporary Wage Schedules can be accessed via the web link http://hr.umich.edu/compclass/schedules/index.htm#temp. Separate wage schedules exist for Temporary Professional/Administrative, Technical, Office, Allied Health and Service/Maintenance classifications. Generally employees should be paid within these ranges but units may elect to use other sources of data in setting temporary salaries.

Effective Date

Temporary Staff salary schedules are effective June 29, 2008 and can be accessed via the web link at http://hr.umich.edu/compclass/schedules/index.htm#temp. The salary schedule shows range minimums for Temporary Staff adjusted June 29, 2008, to reflect the July 1st change in the Michigan minimum wage law.

Effective July 1, 2008, the state minimum wage in Michigan increases to $7.40/ hour

Merit Increases

Temporary staff members may be considered for merit salary increases, to be effective August 24, 2008. Merit increases for Temporary employees may be submitted via the file attach method now available with the MPathways upgrade. The process for using the file attach method can be found in My Linc at Wolverine Access http://wolverineaccess.umich.edu/, and the file may be uploaded on or after July 30, 2008.

If the file attach method is not used, individual Temporary Employment forms can be submitted for processing temporary merit pay increases.
