School-Age Care
UMHS Child Care Center offers school-age care for elementary-aged children when the Ann Arbor Public Schools are closed district-wide, including care on school cancellation days (i.e. snow days). Any UMHS family is eligible to register, and should do so by completing the attached registration form, emergency card, and permission slip and bringing them to the Child Care Center. Full payment is expected at the time of registration.
Care for each day is available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. No extended hours are offered at this time. We will enroll up to 15 children on each day, with 2 teachers present throughout the day. The group will play games, offer reading time, free play time, time outdoors, and travel on a local field trip, weather permitting. Parents are responsible for bringing a sack lunch and weather-appropriate clothing (with layers if necessary).
For School Cancellation Care
Up to 15 families can reserve permanent spaces. Additional families may call the Center after 7:00 a.m. the morning of any district-wide cancellation to see if additional spaces are open.
