CONTRIBUTION ESTIMATES
The estimates below show
what employee and University contributions would be if
changes were already in place today. Although U-M Premier
Care (UMPC) has been used as the model for these early
estimates because of its high faculty and staff enrollment,
all U-M plans will continue to be offered in 2010.
Actual health plan rates for 2010 will
be available by August 15, 2009. Health plan descriptions
and all plan rates also will be
published during Open Enrollment in October when benefit
elections for the following calendar year are made.
Understanding the Estimates:
Sample salaries are shown below for illustrative purposes. Ranges will adjust each year as salaries change, but the ranges in 2008, for example, would have been:
Band 1: $37,600 or less
Band 2: $37,601 to $50,400
Band 3: $50,401 or more
The first two charts below show the impact in 2010 when half the increase takes effect, and the next two chart estimate the change in 2011 when the changes are fully implemented.
The rate estimates below show monthly deductions.
If you are paid bi-weekly, contributions are deducted in equal amounts from the first two paychecks of each month (in months with three paychecks, no deduction is taken from the final check).
