Award Criteria
Nominees for the James T. Neubacher Award must be affiliated
with the University (faculty, staff, student, alumni) and
will be judged according to significant achievements in one
or more of the following areas:
Removing
barriers to full participation in programs and services by
people with disabilities
Promoting
acceptance and awareness of people with disabilities in all
aspects of community life
Advocating for the civil rights of people with disabilities
in order to increase their participation in their communities
Demonstrated commitment to the concept that all people, regardless
of the nature or degree of an individual's disability, have
the right and obligation to become full and contributing members
of society
Contributions above and beyond normal job requirements or
achievements not likely to be recognized by other organizations
An
award nominee need not be a person with a disability
